Well, I didn’t know it as well as I thought I did.
Ahh, Valentine’s Day, the holiday only some people can celebrate, while the rest of us pretend not to be bitter about it.
One of the mainstays of Valentine’s Day, and indeed, romantic love as a whole, is the love letter. 💌

So…it’s been a few months, and I have ticked a couple things off the list, and made some progress; but mostly, I’ve made a mess.

Ahh, the holidays. These days, at least in my household, it’s all Christmas carols, holiday movies, baking stollen and cookies, and frantically wrapping presents so they’ll look nice under the tree. That’s not too unusual. But I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the origins of Christmas and winter traditions, and how it’s all changed and evolved over time. So this seems like an appropriate time to discuss how the holiday season looked in the Georgian Era.
I recently launched my Patreon account, so I thought this would be a good time to explain and explore what Patreon is, what I plan to do with it, and how you can help.
There’s a recipe that’s been bugging me for years, a dish teased by Washington Irving a century and a half ago. I’ve been asking my mother for years to make it, and this year we figured it out together. And I present it to you now as an option for that Thanksgiving turkey.
